"If we were intended us to fly without wings, we would not have wings" Bobbie replied simply. She did not feel up to actually attempting to make the other girl understand all the things that were wrong with her boyfriends plan. If Ash was still in once piece when they returned he would have moved onto something else most likely anyway. She turned and snorting added "just jump Alex ... just like you were jumping out of any window ..."

"Normal people do not normally jump out of windows" Emily sensibly commented "she has probably never jumped out of a window before." She then turned to Alex and continued in a semi-patronizing tone "I know that jumping out of a window may seem crazy. But you should just land of the soft grass of the fairyland border meadow. Of course we have never taken a human back before. You might just hit the pavement, and end up back here."

"I've jumped out of plenty of windows!" Alex objected, not altogether liking Emily's tone of voice. She had jumped out of windows before, mainly at the annoying functions the Evil Warlock forced her to attend. But those were generally on the first story. "Just never a third story window before..." Alex admitted. She then added, "And that's not paricularly comforting, you know- that I might just hit the pavement three stories below me and die."

But Alex reminded herself this was all just a dream. Of course, she had just decided to pretend this was real, but thinking of it as a dream in this instance was much more comforting. One could not get hurt or die in a dream. Dying would just make her wake up which, admittedly, would be sad, but she'd still be alive. So she took a deep break and then pushed her legs out the window so that she was sitting on the sill. She then looked down at the pavement far below, decided that wasn't smart, closed her eyes, and jumped.

The fall was practically nonexistent- just about a half a foot from the window to the ground. Alex was caught off guard by actually hitting ground so soon and landed rather awkwardly since her eyes had been shut. But she only twisted her ankle slightly and soon recovered enough to look around the Fairy Tale world in awe.

Misty just nodded slightly at Bobbie's rather brief explanation. But she supposed it made sense. It was just something unique for a fairy to try to do. This wasn't the first time Misty had hear people call her boyfriend odd, even amongst her friends, and had grown used to it. When the topic passed onto something else- she wasn't really sure what- she stopped paying attention and fell back into thought.

Flix rolled her eyes when she realized that, once again, Misty had totally stopped caring about what was happening around her. She backed up slightly so that she was a good distance behind Misty and then rushed towards her, pushing her friend out the window after Alex. Flix laughed a little, though Misty barely seemed startled, as always, and followed her out and back into fairy world.

Flix twirled around happily when she was back in her own world. There were miny fireworks going off around her as she announced, "Oh, magic, how I've missed thee!"

Misty, meanwhile, lost control of her flight slightly at being pushed and, when she regained control, she found herself in Fairy land. She barely seemed to care, though, and simply drifted down to the ground before regaining her human-hsaped form and standing on the grass.

A shower of golden sparkles showed Emily was releasing her pent up magic. She even did several spins and let out a delighted giggled. Before her sensible side took over and she glanced around. Biting down on her lower lip she carefully commented "we should not hang around in the open. We should get to the headquarters. It is not safe for us to be hanging around in the meadows with everything that is happening."

Bobbie drifted down to the ground and took stock of her surroundings. She then turned into her yellow light and headed towards the woods that bordered the meadow. As the brightest colored fairy she usually provided the light to show the way on journeys. Emily glanced nervously around before turning into a little pink light and following Bobbie. Everything around was beautiful, as it always was in Fairy Land, but at the same time it was creepily quiet and still. It did not seem alive. Everything was too still.

Post  Ash Icewater Tue Sep 04, 2012 11:57 am

Ash had in fact given up on flying without his wings decided it was not important. In fact he had several tumbles and then decided to find something else to do. After much thought he concluded he was going to go and meet the others on their way home. How he knew they were coming home was unknown - best guess was he just seemed to know what his girlfriend was doing most of the time.

Ash did not like flying as a light particle so he had trained a fat fluffy bumble bee named 'Sparks' to be his wings. 'Sparks' in fact flew him everywhere he wanted to go and was a very loyal bumble bee. But the other fairies though it was ridicules to fly using a pet bumble bee when you had wings yourself. But Ash liked flying without becoming light and for long distances that was impossible without flying on something. This way, when he flew on Sparks, he could be seen as himself.

By the time Ash found the meadow he had forgotten why he was going there. He got distracted very easily. He did not remember until he noticed the people he had been looking for. He nudged 'Sparks' to fly over and do a loop of Alexandria's head. Looking down at her with a distant thoughtful expression. He did not speak though and instead nudged 'Sparks' to fly down and hover near to Misty. He then offered his hand, in case she wanted a lift.

Flix rolled her eyes at Emily when she, once again, killed her happy mood and said they needed to get moving. "Spoilsport," She muttered seemingly to herself, but it was meant to be heard. But Flix new that Emily was right. It wasn't safe out here. Even if she sometimes thought it was fun to hang out away from headquarters and have adventures, she knew it wasn't safe with Alex who was supposed to be their only chance at savior. So she sighed and reluctantly turned into a blue light that sped off after Bobbie. As always, Flix was incapable of being serious and appeared to be trying to race Bobbie.

Misty, meanwhile, was distracted by her boyfriend's arrival. Her eyes actually followed him as he flew around Alex's head, rather than staring off into nothingness. When she approached her she gave him a soft smile and took his hand. It wasn't really necessary, though, since she then fluttered her wings and more flew onto Sparks' back rather than using Ash's hand. She didn't actually speak to him, being as quiet as ever, but she was clearly very happy to see him.

Alex very nearly swatted the bee away. Alex wasn't really afraid of the insects, but she wasn't overly fond of them, either. Especially when they were buzzing around her ear. She just barely stopped herself in time, spotting a fairy on top of it. Of course- Ash and his bee Sparks. All the same, she had a vaguely annoyed expression as he circled around her head and asked, as kindly as she could manage though her tone sounded rather forced, "Would you mind not buzzing around my head, please?" However, he had already headed off towards Misty.

So Alex just rolled her eyes and then followed the yellow and green lights that were already heading into the woods. She alternated between looking at them to make sure she was still on the right track, the ground to ensure she didn't trip on anything, and her surroundings. She had been told the fairy tale world had gotten worse than the last time she'd actually written about it, but she was shocked by the reality of how much had changed from how she'd last envisioned the place.

Bobbie may have been keen to get home, but she easily taken in by Flix. If the girl wanted to race then so be it. The only way to forget that they were in constant danger was to have fun. So forgetting they were showing Alexandria the way, Bobbie sped up to prevent Flix over taking her. Her small blur of yellow light visibly going faster as the green light came up beside it. She was highly competitive.

Ash did not say anything, still, but he did nod firmly when Misty was settled. A small smile on his face. Then pulling his goggles down over his eyes he turned 'Spark' towards home. The little bee happily obeyed and carried them off towards the head quarters. He did not think about Alexandria keeping up. He rarely thought about anyone but himself - and Misty - as his mind just drifted too easily.

Emily sighed and still in purple light form hovered near to Alexandria. The only one to think to hang around to make sure the author knew where she was going. What was the point in providing a guide to their secret head quarters if they were not going to guide. Though in truth it was not that secret. She highly doubted that whoever was hurting them did not know where it was.

Ash did not pay much attention to where he was going. Relying on Spark to know the way. He merely stared off into spacing humming slightly. A new idea for an invention coming into his mind. As usual imagination squashing any sense of practically. Then suddenly he abruptly looked over his shoulder at his girlfriend and announced "did you get prettier since I saw you last?" Rather than intending it as a compliment it was more that he sounded like he really wanted to know, out of scientific curiosity.

Alex didn't seem bothered when most everyone raced ahead of her. In fact she smiled endearingly, as though she were watching her own children play. It actually did feel like that to her, since, really, she had brought all these fairies into existence. Besides, Alex was verily sure she could find the way to the headquarters she'd made seeing as how she'd also created the path there.

All the same, she was grateful that Emily, at least, stayed near her to make sure that she found the way. It wouldn't do to get lost simply because she couldn't quite remember the exact way there. So she nodded at Emily as she followed her and said, "Thank you."

A burst of laughter came from the little lantern of green light as Flix was delighted that Bobbie was joining in the game. It was no fun to race someone who wouldn't play. But she wasn't really surprised. In Flix's mind, Bobbie was the funnest of her companions since Misty rarely ever actually seemed to know what was happening, and Emily was always being a spoilsport. Flix struggled to go as fast as she could, also trying her best to overtake Bobbie, get to the headquarters first and, most importantly, win.

Misty had let her head fall onto Ash's shoulder and her eyes drifted shut with a peaceful little smile on her lips. She didn't feel a need for conversation, simply being happy in the moment with the breeze rushing past her and her boyfriend right in front of her. However, she sat up slightly when Ash turned around, her eyes opening as she smiled slightly. She was flattered by his compliment, even if he didn't seem to intend it as such, but said simply in the same dreamy tone with a small shrug, "I wouldn't know."

"You really know your books, huh?" Emily asked as she turned temporarily back into herself. Flying as long as she could as a tiny girl before turning back into particles of light. She just needed to be herself to speak. Not to listen. But she found it very intriguing that Alexandria really did seem to recognize everything she had created. After a pause Emily turned back to herself to add "we thought you must be unable to finish your last book because you had forgotten us." She then became light again.

Bobbie grinned. She had hoped that Flix would respond when she went faster. Soon the two lights had barely anything between them. Bobbie was determined to win. She refused to lose. She absolutely hated losing. But she knew that if they did not slow down before they got back to the Head Quarters she was going to end up crashing into the wall or something. Deciding she did not care she did not slow down.

"I think you must have done. But then you seem to every time I see you. It must be something in the water" Ash decided simply. He then turned back to the front to keep thinking. He was determined to figure this new dilemma out. What made Misty beautiful in his eyes and yet did not work on the other fairies. It was a conundrum. Tipping his head on one side he considered all the options "curious, very curious."

Alex shook her head and explained rather proudly, "I don't forget- I can never forget. All of this came in my head well before I started writing, and it's been there to long to ever forget it." Alex thought for a bit, trying to figure out how to explain why she had stopped writing. "It just... well, it got harder to write after I stopped believing. And the sooner I stopped believing the sooner I had to stop seeing that awful shrink. So I did stop and, not long after, I stopped writing."

Alex frowned slightly as she looked around the woods around her which had once been so bright, so beautiful. They now seemed dull and dead. It wouldn't have been if Alex had finished. Well, it would have for a while, but it would have gotten better. So she felt obligated to apologize. But Alex never did something because she felt it was necessary. No what came next was simply because she meant what she said- she felt bad about what had happened. "I'm sorry."

It did not even occur to Flix to be concerned about running into things. She was an adept flyer and managed to avoid all of the branches in her way, all the while doing her best to increase her speed. She was already going so fast the extra effort didn't do much, but she moved a tiny bit faster. Well, she moved faster until she reached the headquarters and ran headlong into them. She promptly turned back into fairy form and fell headlong for the ground. She only fluttered her wings a little when she was just above the ground, but tried to make the movement small and unnoticeable. She then lay down on the ground playing dead.

Misty simply continued to smile in her soft, not-quite-there kind of way. She was flattered by what Ash was saying, yes, but she didn't react quite normally to that. In fact, she didn't appear to react at all. But if one could sense emotions they would know just how happy she was at that moment.

"I hope you can make it right" Emily simply replied. She looked up and saw that they were now approaching the head quarters. She would take Alexandria straight to the Magic Mirror. Then she would go to the roof. She needed to think. So she did not say anything else. Merely magically opened the big oak doors and then headed inside "though you know you might have been more careful about who you chose to kill off. Did it never occur to you what you were doing to the rest of us each time you killed someone."

Bobbie giggled until Flix did not fly up again. Turning back into her girl form she headed for the ground. Landing beside Flix she nudged her with her foot. She then spoke "come on Flix. We have to get inside. And you don't get sympathy points for being dead. If you are dead that means I automatically win. Everyone knows dead people get disqualified sugar plumb."

Flix had a momentary inner battle as her desire to win and her desire to give people a heart attack tried to duke it out. Eventually the latter won out. Flix was always trying to cause trouble. Plus, even if they thought she was dead, she could still say she won when she stopped pretending. Yes, that was a good plan. So she just continued to lay there limply, careful not to move and barely breathing at all to stop her chest from moving.

"Well that's sort of the point." Alex pointed out. "I mean, people like a bit of sadness in the things they read, and the whole point is how the living react to it." Alex immediately wished she hadn't spoken, though. These were real fairies- well, real dream fairies, Alex corrected herself- and it seemed cruel now. Like she was a homicidal psychopath. So she hurriedly added, "Plus, that's just the way that it played out in my head..." Giving up on coming up with a way to defend herself, Alex simply looked down at the ground and entered the building.

"Well somehow it does not seem to matter what people like to read, when your standing over the body of a friend" Emily whispered and it was more for her than Alexandria. But she forced herself to hold it together. She was the serious mature one. She did not show weakness or feeling. Because she had to hold it together for all the others. Be the adult in the group. So she kept silent till they reached the right door.

"Are you seriously going with the dead thing?" Bobbie asked with an overly dramatic sigh. Well two could play at that game. So Bobbie acted out holding her heart. Miming being heart broken and then her heart stopping because she was so sad. This was followed by a dramatic death scene. She finally flopped down beside Flix and closed her eyes. Romeo and Juliette style briefly flicked through her head.

When Flix heard nothing else from Bobbie- no footsteps or anything- she assumed something was happening and opened one lip a tiny crack. Hopefully not noticeable, but enough that she could see. She had to fight the urge to burst out laughing or even smile as she watched Bobbie's show.

However, by the time he dropped dead, Flix realized her own show was rather pointless. She wasn't even sure were Misty, Ash, Emily, and Alex were at this point, but they clearly hadn't noticed her playing dead. And Bobbie clearly wasn't fooled. So Flix suddenly burst into laughter as though she had just had a stopped in her mouth to halt the stream of laughter. Which was basically true- she'd been holding her breath to avoid it and simply stopped to release it. So Flix lay on the ground laughing her head off, her eyes finally open but squinting slightly due to her mirth.

"I'm sorry," Alex repeated, staring down at her feet as she walked, though she had to occasionally glance up to ensure that she was actually following Emily. "I just write what happens..." She said. She knew this wouldn't make sense, and it hardly even seemed like a good excuse to herself. But it was true. She just wrote what played out in her head. What seemed like it should happen. Really, logistics like how the other characters would feel didn't come into the equation until later.

Bobbie tried to remain innocent. But it did not last. She had to laugh when Flix started laughing. So she covered her mouth to smother the laughter - and laughed. Nowadays with everything being scary it was nice to relax and just have a good laugh. Staggering to her feet Bobbie managed to cool her laughter down to a gentle simmer and speak "whether your a ghost or have realized you are not dead, we should go in."

Flix was also having a good time laughing. Even she had been rather down a lot lately, even though she kept trying to cheer both herself and everyone else up. But it didn't often work in these times and it felt good to laugh and have Bobbie's laughter ringing in her ears as well. The laughter was contagious and whenever Flix started to stop she found herself laughing at Bobbie laughing. She couldn't stop. However, Bobbie eventually smoke and Flix had to hold her breath to stop her laughter. "Is that were everyone's gone?" She asked when she had recovered.

Flix thought this a brilliant idea. Her friends could get rather wound up... Well, mainly Emily. Bobbie generally seemed to be able to be light-hearted, much to Flix's delight, and Misty and Ash never seemed to quite understand what was happening. And Flix did truly love Emily, even if she was always yelling at her. They were good friends. So she immediately decided that she liked Bobbie's suggestion.

However, Flix could never just say such a thing. No, she had to do so in a dramatic fashion. So she fluttered up a couple inches in the air and then plopped back down on the ground, her legs crossed under her. She then propped her elbow on her knee and rested her chin in her hand in the classic thinking posture. She then commenced to sort through several idea in her head of what they could do. After a few minutes she gave Bobbie a couple of them, "Fireworks? Or a game? Though those are really just for cheeriness, not a laugh... although, we could do something funny with the fireworks- make them spell funny things, or something."
